The Ashwaubenon Youth Wrestling Club is co-sponsored by the Park & Recreation Department. The club teaches youths, Kindergarten thru 8th grade, the sport of wrestling through a program of conditioning and drills that are designed to give them a sense of accomplishment and achievement of goals. Wrestling improves their confidence and self-esteem by showing them they are able to compete as an individual as well as a member of a team.

The Club practices and competes in area tournaments with other wrestling organizations throughout the months of December, January, February, and March. Youths are able to qualify for the Wisconsin State Youth Wrestling Tournament in the spring of the year.

The Club holds its own tournament as a fundraiser for its program, parent participation is mandatory to run this tournament.

Benefits of the club are coach guided practices, paid entry fees for club members to participate in selected tournaments, with a coach present. The club also covers the cost of club member’s end of season banquet along with a gift for each child, in the past they received duffle bags, team t-shirts etc. Each spring the club presents a $500.00 scholarship to a qualifying graduating senior from Ashwaubenon High School.
